| History On December 24, 1974, H. Lamm Industries, Inc. was incorporated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida by President and Founder Helmut Lamm. Helmut’s journey has been a long one, not only in time but in distance. He was born in a small town, Kappelrodeck which is in the Black Forest of Germany. Even as a young boy he wanted to explore the world and knew he would end up somewhere other than in his hometown. After finishing mechanical engineering school in Konstanz, Germany, his first job was with Maybach Motorenbau GmbH Friedrichshafen, Germany, in the design department. In 1965, Helmut’s first opportunity abroad was in South Africa working for Babcock and Wilcox Engineering in the fan manufacturing design division, which primarily focused on gold and diamond mine ventilation. Three years later, his working experience and travels led him to Canada and Michigan. In 1972, he arrived in South Florida with a wealth of knowledge and skills in the HVAC air conditioning, heating, ventilation, sheet metal industry.
